my first story – rewritten

When I was little, I wrote lots of stories. One story, in particular, still stands out to me.

I drew the story using markers, coloring the pages of my stapled together book. Then I narrated the story to my mom, who wrote my words on the paper in her neat handwriting.

To celebrate the beginning of my writing website, I want to share that story with you today. I have rewritten based on my memory.

The little flower

There once was a little flower. It was smaller than all the other flowers. The other flowers grew tall, their blue petals leaving shadows on the little flower.

This made the little flower sad because it did not stand out amongst the larger, taller ones.

One day, however, there was a terrible storm. Lightning and thunder surrounded the flowers in their flower bed. The lightning was so intense that it struck down the taller flowers.

The little flower was safe, and it grew tall from the rain of the thunderstorm. While the other flowers had wilted, the little flower now grew to become a beautiful blooming flower.
